Madman 1981
IMPORTANT NOTE TO START:
*Never entrust your safety to a person who wears a puffy wool vest.
Madman is a gem, a diamond in the rough of the slasher genre and one that actually trumps quite a few other classics IMO. I have no idea why it took me so long to finally check it out.
