Deranged

Maybe I would have liked this more if I hadn’t read the book? The book and movie are completely different genres. I think the book absolutely nails what it is trying to accomplish, while the movie interprative dances around its various points.

Extremely visceral viewing experience. This movie would totally crumble without George MacKay’s central performance. I don’t think this would hold up on rewatch, but I enjoyed it a lot when I saw it on the first day of 2020.

It should have ended when he left for the play.
