    thought i'm in for some comedy special but damn it's unbearable to watch someone at the verge of breaking down, and yet still expects himself to translate his anxiety and languish for media consumption. though, some tracks are definitely banger; an ode to pandemic's impact, our collective reminiscence, a pocket of history compacting how we all coped and managed to pull through.

    all the same, fuck u 2020 and happy one-year anniversary to this film.

    what amazed me is the birth of this film really; how it started as a redemption story for Imelda, but in the process, the opposite ended up happening. The Kingmaker exposes the disillusionment and gaslighting the Marcoses did to the Filipinos. their grandiose lifestyle and narrative were an irony to the fact-based evidence of their ill-gotten wealth and real testimonies of human rights violation during Martial Law.
