    There are times when the camera moves so close and personal to display Chiron’s emotions, then there are times when the camera creeps in from far behind as if it is inviting us to observe Chiron’s life from an external point of view — a perspective most of us don’t get to see often. I absorbed it all quietly and my heart aches for him. All aspects of this are mesmerising. I loved it a lot and I cried a lot.

    Badlands follows the venture of a spontaneous spree killer and a naïve partner in crime. The former is fed up with the world while the latter isn’t sure how she feels, but she is intrigued by all the new experiences he provides her.

    The basement scene is one of the tensest experiences I’ve ever seen. People say the running time is too long but 2 hours and 42 minutes is needed to condense all the relevant details of the case into a film. Every scene serves a purpose to shape the intended story and I think David Fincher aced it. You feel like you’re a part of the investigation. The fact that the Zodiac Killer was never identified is such an unsatisfactory situation.
