    John Frankenheimer's second American conspiracy film which feels like an answer to the first. Unlike The Manchurian Candidate, Seven Days in May is significantly more optimistic about the power of American democracy and the office of its presidency. Similarly feels like borderline alternate history, the whole thing seems so plausible and is explained deeply without ever feeling overbearing in its explanation.
