Chris Voss’s review published on Letterboxd:
After the brash and explosive AS TEARS GO BY, we see a tonal shift as WKW starts to move into his signature style. Languid and sumptuous camera work, beautiful use of color and music, and of course those performances. You can’t take your eyes off of anyone, and the tonal shifts into violence only accentuate every other lingering glance.
And holy crap that final scene with Tony Leung. Makes no sense and still caps the movie beautifully.
