I might need another viewing of this. if each film in this "series" plays with a different tone or style, GODZILLA VS. KONG is firmly in the fun, fantastic vein that many of the Toho entries excelled at. It means that the humans are paper thin and often annoying, but the ideas and the images are crackerjack fun. I think the film is a bit inconsistent in representing how big Kong and Godzilla are at any given moment, but it doesn't impact the wonder of some of the more far-fetched scenes.
The weakest of the bunch IMO, but I'm open to being convinced otherwise...
