This almost 70-year-old film is depressingly relevant to current events, from the racism to the white complacency right down to the xenophobic asshat in the red baseball cap. So good.

A Face in the Crowd 1957
So good to rewatch after Trump’s exit from the White House. Walter Matthau’s speech hits harder now. Nice to imagine a world in which Americans hold their public figures accountable for the things they say . . .such a great film.

Promising Young Woman 2020
Very glad this film was made, even though I felt like it was kinda clunky and the ending was slapped on in some kind of executive note. Carey Mulligan is great in everything. Excited to check out whatever Emerald Fennell does next.
