Charlie Chaplin Ranked

There are very few filmmakers who had the creative control that Charlie Chaplin did when he started directing his own movies. He essentially dominated every aspect of the process, and the results speak for themselves. More than a hundred years later, and his techniques are still the building blocks of most modern movies. Although labeled slapstick, I actually found his comedy style to be much more organic and at its best when in service of the bigger story.
