This film is beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. Every shot can literally be hung up in an art museum. In the Mood for Love is about a woman and man who found out their husband and wife were cheating on them with each other, so instead of dealing with it, they use their imagination to escape the horror of the situation. Tony and Maggie’s performances were so realistic that it hurt to watch. Their characters trying to ignore that they’ve been cheated on because they’re not ready to face it is heartbreaking. The score and its repeating music is absolutely beautiful and improves the experience. This film definitely needs a rewatch soon because it’s truly something special.
