    ★★★★

Some of the character writing is very amateur and undercooked which I can obviously understand being that it that was Jonah Hill’s debut.

Some characters have no personality whatsoever while others are very well written.

I love the acting for the most part as well as the overall aesthetic.

Congrats Jonah you made a really enjoyable coming of age tale about characters we don’t really see much of on screen.

This is a pretty solid film with plenty of emotionally devastating moments but it’s equally filled with plenty of moments that feel forced and unnecessary.

The acting is mostly great but whenever Steve yelled it felt like he didn’t want to go all the way because people would be reminded of his character from The Office.

I wish I had more to say but this is kind of a complicated one to talk about.

    Oh shit.

Another technical masterpiece which is to be expected from Denis Villenueve.

But, Arrival is so much more than that. I felt so emotional throughout the entire thing without knowing why.

I felt physically sick when they first entered the pod.

The most immersive film of the year.

    Justice League

    ★★½

It's entertaining but it doesn't do anything you haven't seen before.

If you've been growing more and more tired of these comic book movies, you'll probably be pretty indifferent towards this one like I am.

The visual effects ruin many action scenes here...it's  2017 dude.

The actors give good performances but the characters mostly fall flat. Bruce and Diana carry most of the movie for me because flash couldn't have been more annoying.

Aquaman, Cyborg, and Superman don't stand out at all.

There's no engaging conflict or villain here.

    Nothing really stands out.

I'm even getting unimaginative with my reviews for these movies.
