Ti West made one goddamn fucked up horror picture. X is what a slasher movie should be. Gory, horrific and comedic. A love letter to the slasher genre. A stellar cast that resembles the 70s perfectly. Mia Goth is a fucking star and I can’t get enough of her. The performances, cinematography, editing and sound design were flawless. Can’t believe West filmed the prequel right after X. He’s already planning out the sequel too. The man made his own new original IP. The first film series franchise for A24? Horror fans will have a blast with X.

I’ve seen this a few times before I had letterboxd. This would be my eighth time watching Hereditary. I first saw this amazing movie back with my friends in June 2018. The beginning gave everyone creepy vibes and from that one scene, everyone gasped in theaters. No one made a sound or a word till it was over. There were a lot of aspects that I loved about this. Halina Reijn brought a refreshing take on the whodunnit genre with a crazy spin to the whole story. A toxic and chaotic environment between the people in the group. Fantastic thrills that keeps you guessing. Maria Bakalova amazed me before in Borat 2. She nailed her dramatic acting role. Rachel Sennott and Amandla Stenberg also impressed the hell out of me. You’ll either enjoy Bodies, Bodies, Bodies or find it insufferable with the humor.

We live in a world where Thor: Love and Thunder got a wide release in theaters and Prey is just on Hulu. Thanks, Disney. The second best Predator movie. The best Predator design. Wonderful cinematography and score. The 10 Cloverfield Lane director has clearly seen Predator and understood why it’s beloved. We get a thrilling ride of Native Americans from centuries ago encountering the Predator. Hunting and being hunted, that’s what make Predator and Prey exciting for viewers.
