Add this to the pile of 2016 movies that under-deliver. I enjoyed the visuals for the most part and actually appreciated the approach (even though I would've preferred a straight up retelling of the original). But what keeps this movie from being anything special is the characters themselves. They just felt dull. It's a shame because this movie had some great talent attached. But none of the ideas this story goes for are fully fleshed out. This movie is watchable and certainly not the worst that 2016 has produced, but it leaves a lot to be desired.
