Ben Solo’s review published on Letterboxd:
Marvel Studios is simply working magic. With the sixth big screen installment of the friendly neighborhood wall crawler, Marvel and yes, Sony, manage to make Spidey fresh and FUN again, after the utterly horrible last two installments.
Tom Holland is perfectly cast as Peter Parker and Spider-Man, being funny, relatable, and most importantly a nice person unlike Andrew Garfield's cocky, arrogant, unfunny, and unrelatable portrayal in both Amazing Spider-Man's. Michael Keaton also stars as the villain "The Vulture", who just so happens to be one of the better villains in the past MCU movies.
Homecoming is a great Spider-Man movie, although I still stand by that Raimi's first two Spider-Man movies are perfect.
I still very much enjoyed Homecoming, laughing, and smiling and it's clever and comedic writing as well as great character interactions.
Marvel is doing the unthinkable, making a genre they recently made stale fresh again, and it's fantastic.
