“Ghost” as in the phase of grief where you feel someone’s presence after they’re gone. I suppose the true part would have been too sad and dismal without adding a fantasy romance. But it seemed to imply that love brings a supernatural connection. I have two issues with that - one, they were 12 years old! And barely romantically connected. And two, grief is not romantic, there is no connection; it’s just empty, overwhelming, and full of despair. As fantasy at least you can see her yearning.
The movie is beautifully and creatively made though. My heart goes out for what that poor boy must have gone through. 😓
