This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

Endless Love is the beginning of my Tom Cruise 2019 Expedition, and oh boy is it an odd one. I know this movie doesn’t deserve five stars, but I honestly loved it. It’s so, so bad, but I loved it. I’ll stick with the one star for now and adjust if I need to on rewatches. I’m choosing to forgo an actual review and instead post my train of thoughts as the movie progressed. Spoilers, obviously. Enjoy.

    The Ghost and the Darkness

    ★★★

Every character’s intro - ESPECIALLY Michael Douglass’ - was so needlessly dramatic. Every single person opened with a one-liner that was supposed to come off as humorous/badass, but only came off as schlocky. Apart from that, the movie was fine. Pacing was a bit off and Val Kilmer’s accent was atrocious, but it was competent.

    A Quiet Place

    ★★★★

Not really a valid talking point of the quality of the film, but I have to mention it. John Krasinski with a full beard.
