Close-Up is a unique and masterfully envisioned film. A simple plot with a lot of depth. Kiarostami finds a way to skew our expectations by twisting Sabzian's truth amongst the films bent narrative structure.
A dialogue heavy film that has left me conflicted. While it is a technically flawless film, conversations dragged on and left me a little uninterested. With that said, Close-Up will stay in my mind for a while.
Side-note: A strong theme surrounding identity - wanting to be someone you're not and how far one is willing to play the part.
