The film ends and the theater is silent. No one immediately stands up to leave. There is a collective air of "What the actual fuck just happened?"
When movies end like this, I always know I've seen something extraordinary. Sometimes the extraordinary is pretentious try hard material, but most often it is breathtaking, original art.

Freddy vs. Jason is a decent enough crossover that I feel would have been AWESOME to see in theaters on release, and with fans of each franchise. Nineteen years later, it seems only worth watching if you are a horror nerd and/or a Voorhees/Krueger aficionado. But it is by no means the worst F13, and it is definitely better than Jason X.
The film screams references to lots of other beloved horror jams. There's some The Slumber Party Massacre inβ¦
