And once again, I've sat through another failed attempt at a video game adaption, although I quite enjoyed the first act. If this would of been a postal service procedural called 'Lara Croft- Bike Courier' I would of been 100% onboard.
A great directorial debut by Alex Garland, that show-cases three great performances by Gleeson, Isaac, and Vikander. Themes of female objectification, voyeurism, & the idea of identity as a construct, make this a very clever little film indeed.
Matthew Vaughn delivers a cleverly funny, yet violent meta spy adventure . I now see this as the second film in a potential trilogy that started with Kick-Ass, & although not quite to that level of genius, this does belong in the same league.
