    Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

I’ve seen the first hour of this film about 150 times. Once we hit the tree swing scene...I’m satisfied and have had my fix. Everything after that is an endurance test I have trouble passing.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

So in conclusion we have a 9-film series with 2 towering classics (new hope, empire), 2 agreeable time passers (return of the Jedi, Force awakens), 2 busy, loud, totally forgettable potboilers (last Jedi, rise of Skywalker) and 3 of the worst movies ever made (the prequels).

Roger Ebert pens an epic where a transvestite suggestively slips a loaded gun into a lesbians mouth and fires it.

Then he rails against slasher films for 30 fucking years as a film reviewer. Oh OK girl.

Anyway. This is Russ Meyer’s Citizen Kane.

Transcendent. The whole inner world of this movie...night buses, donuts, motor lodges, con artists, reporters, hitchhiking...is so genuine and richly detailed in its own rundown way. I can’t get enough of it.

I love that Gable and Colbert went slumming over at lowly Columbia Pictures and it took their stardom to a new level (with Oscars to boot).
