I knew from the trailer that I was going to love this. Filmed entirely on a soundstage in Astoria (hallowed ground for Marx Bros fans like Allen) ...it creates it’s own little 1920s world...the German Expressionist village of movie buff dreams: mad Doctor, serial killer, vigilante mobs, prostitutes, circus performers. Then plunk down nebbish New Yorker Woody Allen in the middle of it all...and you get the idea. Delightful.
