Clint Luciantonio’s review published on Letterboxd :
It's less tightly paced as his other epics and definitely drags over the three years it dramatized. That being said it's so controlled formally and the scale is so impressive as to not be in awe of its ambitions. It's too slow for me, but it's respectable, and the central arc of petty thief coming to understand nobility and pride through impersonation is really interesting. I wish it played that conflict up more.
