the hypocrisy of this film’s third act does not go unnoticed by me, and yes, i did in fact have a big smile on my face when practically every single other Disney IP made a cameo so i am VERY aware that i am the problem!!!!! but this is a lot of fun and is such an incredibly high-concept premise that i couldn’t help but love it. i do think there’s quite a bit here that is *too* specific to our current culture (all of the cuts to Ninja specifically), but it’s not to the point where it’s gratuitous and distracting.
the jokes (mostly) land, the action is engaging enough, and the performances are all rock solid. there’s specifically one actor - i’m not sure it’s a spoiler to say who - that i hadn’t seen in a loooooong while and was so excited, but surprised, to see again!!! and last but not least, joe keery <3
