Some early thoughts on Kore-eda's Broker as I intend to rewatch.

Just like many of his films, Kore-eda manages to script and then peek into the sincerest windows of family. If you're familiar with his work, you know that it's not cookie cutter and always ends happily. And although the film felt very Kore-eda, it also felt quite Korean. No, it's nothing like Parasite. People really need to expand their Korean cinematic palates.

A cast with the legends Song Kang-ho…

So much better than Thor: Love and Thunder and deserves a theatrical release.

  • The Gray Man

This didn't need to cost $200 mil. But Chris Evans was hilariously entertaining, the action eye catching and the plot semi-formulaic. An extremely passable Friday night Netflix flick.

Came for Mary Elizabeth Winstead with short hair + the Yakuza vibes and stayed.

    Thor: Love and Thunder

    ★★★

This was a little too much Taika Waititi.

In truth, Thor: Love and Thunder is closer to a 3 star flick. But my god, (get it?) was Christian Bale's talent wasted. As Gorr the God Butcher, Bale was phenomenal. Many of his scenes were terrifying. His presence as a villain was refreshing. The rest of the cast was solid as usual although Korg is becoming a little Jarjar-ish. Don’t get me wrong, Waititi is a fantastic director. It’s just that this 4th Thor entry wasn’t a beautiful mess and felt like live action Muppets movie. Entertaining, but far from the potential epic-ness that could have been.

In the future, art is still elitist highbrow nonsense.

The complete opposite of today's "journalism" and media integrity done on film. Underrated film.

Would have been better than the Heard trial if the pacing was a little tighter.

One of Cruise's most underrated films. But one thing, he kept saying MTA and this took place in Los Angeles and had a train. I was so confused.

I would have never imagined Top Gun in 2022 would have been good, but it was damned good.
