A patchwork of memories. Details the time in your life when everything was more innocent and yet everything was so high stakes. Although it’s set in the 60s, the idea of remembering one important night anchored in your mind by heartbreak, loss, discovery, and most of all, music is something that can be applied to whatever time period in which you happened to come of age. I can’t think of a better example of a movie that is so tied to a specific era yet manages to be completely timeless.
“In times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers.”
First rewatch since it was in theaters. This is possibly THE film of 2018. It holds up immensely well on rewatch, and the techs (especially those nominated) are worth a revisit. Even the visual effects impressed me this time.
