Cody’s review published on Letterboxd:
I have been unable to escape Midsommar. As I write this review, I can feel my hands quake, my body grow cold, my anxiety levels increase, simply because I'm thinking about the film. Ari Aster proves that he simply is a director of horror, offering one of the most bone-chilling, agonizing experiences of your life. Midsommar is going to divide audiences, as it did my crowd, with half cheering and clapping, while the other sat and booed at the screen. There is so much to digest with Midsommar, but I am convinced that it is one of the single greatest horror films of all time. I thought that Aster had perfected his vision with Hereditary, but Midsommar completely blows his previous work out of the water. I will revisit this within the coming days, and will write a longer, more in-depth review, but now, this film does not play, and should be experienced on the biggest screen possible. See this immediately.
