an interesting look at laws in relation to cultural upbringing, and how both create our very own monsters and the shame that brings that to people around them. how the old man starts off as this harmless person to something else, something much more harmful makes this very interesting, especially given that Wang fits a very nice arc into the span of just over fifteen minutes. it does feel a bit amateur (not by a lot) but i can’t really fault Wang for this cause it seems like she was working on a relatively small budget. it’s ambiguous nature isn’t fully explored enough, and i wish it was a bit longer but either way it’s a pretty good short. i recommend this one, it’s on Vimeo, mostly for the sake of preparing for The Farewell, which i am immensely excited for
