    The Irishman

The Irishman is Martin Scorsese’s retrospective response to all of his other mafia movies. Goodfellas and Casino didn’t necessarily glorify the lives of gangsters, but neither of them make it seem as grim as it does in this film.

Seeing Pesci, Pacino and De Niro share the screen is as exhilarating as any Marvel hero team-up. See what I did there? Also, try your hardest to see this in a theater. I just dont see people committing to a 3 1/2 hour movie in their living room.

  • The Lighthouse

    The Lighthouse

Believe it or not The Lighthouse is even less accecible than The Witch. Most of the exposition is buried deep inside some rambling, allegorical monologue burped forth by a drunk seamen. It’s wonderful. The cinematography is striking and claustrophobic, and pairs perfectly with the haywire performances of the two leading men. If you enjoy cinema that streches its audience, The Lighthouse will be a winner for you.

I understand the plight of the MJ fans. If Star Wars molested children I would be in denial too.
