I Am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang

I Am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang ★★★★

Why I watched this one? A movie that I had heard and read all my life...and I finally got my hands on copy of the movie.

What is this one about? This true story is about a wrongly convicted James Allen (Paul Muni) serves in the intolerable conditions of a southern chain gang, which later comes back to haunt him.

My thoughts on this one? Paul Muni was the Daniel Day-Lewis of the 1930s. I Am A Fugitive From A Chain Gang is one of his classic roles. He is outstanding in this one....and he received a much deserved Oscar nomination for this movie. Not only is the movie good...it actually helped reform the system in which prisoners were held captive. Sally Blane in a supporting role really caught my eye in this one. Her role is pretty small....but it was enough to get me to look her up on IMDb. Turns out she was Loretta Young's sister and had 97 IMDb credits. Final thought: This one is worth checking out.
