An amazing movie for sound design alone! The way that it uses audio to change perspective in the scene is just astounding and the way that Riz Ahmed's acting perfectly complements it. I also like how Rubans desire to hear to parallel his struggle with addiction, which in one mind set sounds like a dumb thing to want to hear again as a bad thing but the theme of this movie is acceptance and that disabilities are not something that is meant to be fixed but something that one can learn to live with.
Being the Marx brothers second film on screen too can still see them making the transition from stage to screen as their acting and direction feels more akin to a vaudeville play rather than the perfect hybrid their later films provide. Not to say this movie is bad, just a rough version of what we will see later on from them!
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Pft wow what could Zack Snyder do to make the justice league better, and it's four hours??? Bet it's gonna be a bloated mess that doesn't even really do anything I mean it's probably just gonna be the same movie with more slow motion and jesus image....I'm sorry what?....the characters are more fleshed out?.....wonder woman is less sexualized?....the style is consistent with the set and costume design?......the inclusion of darksied actually works and makes steppenwolfs story meaningful?.....Martian Manhunter?......kinghtmare tease!??.....Jared Leto's Joker!?....hold on are you telling me this movie is actually good!!???????
This was bad, like really bad. Like this movie wasn't bad like how the room was bad but good it was just AWFUL.
There were random frame rate changes, the setting was weird, unnecessary slow motion shots, the dialogue was all over the place and the plot was so disconnected from anything.
Honestly the hype of tommy wiseau fades off 5 minutes after he appears.
