Damn, 1925, you gave us a bloody brutal and haunting PHANTOM OF THE OPERA probably giving the most definitive evil side of the phantoms character and sparing no mercy in doing so. From haunting imagery to an ultra violent ending, the film packs a firm punch as it shows off its evil side and displays the phantom at his most possessive and abusive. The costumes, sets and characters are all a delight as the film proudly stands as a work of art. Lon Chaney looks magnificent in the titular role with some excellent make up and a menacing persona. A bastard of a phantom and I am all in for it.
