Vertigo

Vertigo ★★★★★

Elster's mahogany shipyard office with the wall-sized window view of steel puzzle pieces being craned into a behemoth ocean liner. Strangely stood out as a more haunting location on this much overdue rewatch of Vertigo. All this talk about possession and "portals to the past" sync nicely with a shipping metaphor of sneakily maneuvering your secrets and lies in plain sight of the fall guy in your murder plot. Vertigo itself is a portal to the past and any time I watch it I am transported to a dreamworld this guy Alfred had back in 1958.
