Stayed away from this film for so long without even knowing what it was about due to weird cultural baggage. Internalised misogyny has really been making me miss out on some sweet lil gems!
Wow as an ex-events person this whole thing made me want to throw up the entire time.
Wanted to cry for all the workers that didn’t get paid but had no sympathy for the attendees soz.
Also didn’t really like the conclusion that this was a result of a modern-day obsession with social media cause millennials are obsessed with the internet... that just felt like a lazy & disingenuous analysis. It’s more a issue of free market capitalism utilising social media…
This film consists of every thing I hate to watch on screen; petticoats, olden days Britain, one solitary poc as a servant, the royal family, rich ppl, hunting, rich ppl business, things that make you empathise w rich ppl, girls climbing up British social ranks, aristocrats, white ppl in wigs, maids, posh British accents, mark gattis acting, corsets, horses...
...yet I loved it?!??
