Too much hype but still an immensely effective and unnerving experience. Hereditary uses a lot of tropes but manages to still be unpredictable. I like the stylized camera work and incorporation of miniatures even though I don’t know what purpose it serves. Most of my criticisms are what I wish it had done differently on a story level going into the 2nd act but that being said its a visceral horror movie/family drama that I would like to see again.
