Megan’s review published on Letterboxd:
As disappointing as The Ward being ostensibly Carpenter’s final film, it’s even more disheartening as a Girl, Interrupted rip-off. Every archetype and story beat (outside of the murderous entity) are poorly lifted from James Mangold’s masterpiece. The added horror elements appear generic unfortunately due to its cheapness. The digital mise en scene is as if Asylum produced it. Every location is so clean and unlived in, you can’t imagine that this is the 60’s. The scares feel like a boogeyman going through the motions, nothing much to give except make you jump. It’s all waste and what a bummer.
