See You At The Party Richter
The elephant in the room is the age gap.
It was nice seeing the development of the co-cinematographer Michael Bauman in this film though. As its his first DoP credit, you can tell he develops his stylings massively from the first couple scenes (which admittedly dont look great, I thought they were shooting 16mm 😶) to the later scenes which are pretty incredible looking.
This has become one of my new top 4 films I have ever watched. Literally everything about it is so perfect and the comedy is some of the greatest I have ever seen.
If you are also unaware, this film is now watchable on Shudder Australia so you can watch it completely legally. And I would strongly recommend that you do.
Please do not watch any trailers for this film as it contains massive spoilers. Also try to avoid reading too many of the synopsises for this as they fall in spoiler territory occasionaly as well. Letterboxd's bio is safe though.
I can not for the life of me comprehend how the score for this film is so low. Never in my life has a film made me feel more like the bad guy as this film did. Because the way that this film is created, the viewer is the one looking through the webcam. They are the ones peering into the life of this individual.
I mean maybe it was more effective because I am also living in a studio appartment, but I dont think that would cause the massive discrepency in score.
