See You At The Party Richter
Brave of danny to believe that he is the comedy sidekick, when he is easily the most grating part of the film.
Some of the vfx work here has aged kinda badly. There are shots all throughout the film that look abysmal in comparrison to the normal look, and my guess would be that its caused by some part of the vfx green screening workflow. The best way I can describe them are as flat coloured, blue tinted, vhs quality shots.
This has become one of my new top 4 films I have ever watched. Literally everything about it is so perfect and the comedy is some of the greatest I have ever seen.
If you are also unaware, this film is now watchable on Shudder Australia so you can watch it completely legally. And I would strongly recommend that you do.
Please do not watch any trailers for this film as it contains massive spoilers. Also try to avoid reading too many of the synopsises for this as they fall in spoiler territory occasionaly as well. Letterboxd's bio is safe though.
No idea if it was intentional but the character of Molly drove me up the wall. I'm also very jealous of the murder mystery party, I have never been to one, and desperately want to attend.
My main critique for this film is despite its dont judge a book by its cover themes, a lot of the side character's are incredibly underdeveloped, almost leading to stereotypical traits. Like you cant look at the drama kids in this film, and claim that they are anything more than a 1 note comedic relief.
