TIFF19 Film #5:
"Just Mercy" is powerful, hard hitting and devastating but also inspiring, timely and extremely important. This film is told in such an engaging and investing fashion that the two hour plus run time honestly flew by and there were several moments where I couldn't stop the tears from flowing. Brie Larson, Tim Blake Nelson and especially Jamie Foxx are brilliant in supporting roles but this is Michael B. Jordan's movie from start to finish. He delivers the best performance of his career here which really is saying a lot. Expect this to be a huge hit both with audiences and critics. I think we're looking at a major Oscar contender with this one. Fantastic.
