It might be the tabloid equivalent of cinema—essentially a hit job against almost anyone who appears on camera, including the wealthy, unprepared attendees of the "festival"—but it sure can be entertaining. The film is focused around a series of talking heads, most of which contribute to some stagnant sense of disbelief about the reality of the situation, but there is also a healthy amount of footage taken of the disaster that could have been the Fyre Festival. Like some swirling cesspool, we watch the hubris of everyone involved as they play out something that Spring Breakers lampooned while the audience is fully aware of the disaster that they are heading toward. These people are truly the Oxymandii of 2010s America: once heralded as monarchs among men, but now left as forgotten wreckage in a wasteland.
