The Lighthouse ★★★★

Props must really be given to director Robert Eggers for his sheer dedication. From shooting on black and white 35mm film with vintage lenses from as early as 1918 to as late as 1938, "The Lighthouse" just feels like an authentic, long-lost movie from the early 20th century.

And what helps push the film past its (at times) meandering pace are the powerhouse performances from Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson, who I have no doubt will crush the role of Batman.
