Everything Everywhere All at Once 2022
just not my thing i guess, the emotional impact everyone else i was with was feeling completely missed me. i was honestly pretty jaded with the whole experience. i thought it’s whole cheery love everyone message was pretty reductive and annoying. i checked the time on my phone like 10 times and every time they made their heavy handed “in the mood for love” reference i wished i was at home just watching a wong kar wai movie.

We're All Going to the World's Fair 2021
gotta give it credit for its originality in tone and it roots it’s world so solidly in such a specific, real part of the internet. while it didn’t offer the catharsis that i’d hoped for, maybe that’s not a bad thing. will need to take a step back and revisit to have a more objective experience. i’m happy that this exists and i have no doubt that jane schoenbrun is going to have a very interesting and exciting career.
