I've taken 3 film classes so you could say I know what I'm talking about
My top four are a favourite from the previous 4 months
A grand, epic, brutal myth. Really liked how much it commits with the dialogue and atmosphere. Amleth is inspiration for Hamlet so that's interesting to compare. Overall, great film.
Beautiful, meditative, mythical, and dreamlike. Love the chaotic 2d animation. Not really sure what it meant in a deeper way other than that cryptids come to you in times of need or great change, or maybe that "if you love something let it go"/ leave the natural world alone. Luckily, the base text is interesting enough to be the main focus. I love how crazy it gets by the end.
Kind of cringe and bad. Like, to me it was just not funny, and he enters the old dad (unprogressive and missinformed current affairs babbling) kind of comedy a lot. It's not absolutely terrible, but it's close. Watched on the train.
