A genuinely strong and thoroughly impressive feature-length directorial debut from Wes Anderson. Not exactly straight to the point as it perhaps should've been (middle section is a bit different from the rest), but it was definitely an extremely diverting & finely lightweight time to hang out with a group of endearing characters in this that don't know what to do with their lives.
Luke Wilson and Owen Wilson especially bring a lot of tender charm and deadpan humor to the table here. Helps that they're actual brothers in real life as well, making their chemistry feel completely authentic. This was their debut too, and they absolutely knocked it out of the park for their first time on-screen in my book. Lots of laughs to be had and a truly down-to-earth crime comedy altogether.
