I expected to be bored and disappointed by this film. I thought that no film is worth the amount of praise that this movie has gotten, but after watching The Godfather for the first time, I can absolutely say that it is worth all the praise it can get.

“You talk about vengeance. Is vengeance going to bring your son back to you? Or my boy to me?”


The writing is impeccable and that is backed by incredible performances from literally everyone in this film. The story, following the Corleone family, plays out in a unique and very satisfying way. I believe that the writing, the acting, and the emotions peak in the final scene of the film, which left me completely speechless and was hands down my favorite scene in the movie.

The direction from Francis Ford Coppola is some of the best of all time. The way he sets up some scenes and shots in the film is inspiring and masterful. With this movie he once again proves why he is one of the best directors of all time.

This film is one of the best movies I’ve ever seen and I can’t wait to be blow away by the sequel. I’m going to give this one a 100/100.
