Combining traditional animation, rotoscope and additional art by Mike Ploog, Wizards is a one of a kind fantasy ride that stylishly vacillates between puerile and terrifying.

This Ivan Reitman produced film brings the stories of the cult magazine to life, as do the voices of Harold Ramis, John Candy, Richard Romanus, Eugene Levy, John Vernon, Susan Roman & Marilyn Lightstone.

Contributions from animation directors, including Jimmy Murakami (When the Wind Blows), Gerald Potterton (Yellow Submarine), John Halas (Animal Farm), give you plenty to look at. A solid Elmer Bernstein score and contemporary rock songs contribute to its' one of a kind audacious weirdness.

A dusty noirish gem, Siegel's film is a tour de force by the previously comedic Walter Matthau and a strong supporting cast led by Joe Don Baker, Sheree North, Andrew Robinson, John Vernon & Felicia Farr. Lalo Schiffrin's score is a huge plus.

Barry Shear's grim & violent New York crime story features a great cast (Yaphet Kotto, Anthony Quinn, Antonio Fargas, Paul Benjamin, & Richard Ward), great editing and a score by J.J. Johnson (Willie Dynamite, Shaft) and songs by Bobby Womack.

This is one of the best American films of the 1970's.

Philippe (78/52) directs his focus toward David Lynch: a filmmaker who has elicited more curiosity from audiences than any other filmmaker, and met it with nearly no answers. Philippe enlists an impressive cast of Lynch enthusiasts and colleagues– including filmmakers John Waters and Karyn Kusama, and critic Amy Nicholson– to probe into the thing Philippe believes is at the core of Lynch’s filmography: The Wizard of Oz. LYNCH/OZ offers a compelling…

Alice, Sweet Alice follows the story of a little girl whose younger sister has been murdered. The plot pretty much hinges on Catholic ideologies and the writer’s stance is pretty clear. This aspect adds a fun twist to the movie, especially moving to those who grew up in a religious household.

I’m sure this has been said in other reviews, but the acting truly is phenomenal. The child actor, in particular, does a great job at being totally creepy and…

Unpopular opinion, but this is my favorite movie in the series. This is without a doubt the best killer reveal in cinema history and no one can tell me any differently.
