This was an incredible movie. It's hypnotic and mesmerizing. Unfortunately, I had to break it up into two sittings, but that didn't detract from matters one bit. It's that good.
A lot of praise has been heaped upon Steve Yeun for his role, and I agree--this is the performance of his career. Yeun's character is urbane and witty and hip, but there's also an element of mystery behind him, and not necessarily in a good way.
This is based on a Haruki Murakami short story, and it captured the tone of his work perfectly--it's deceptively simple and not all loose ends are tied up.
