Fun story: I actually tried to watch this back when I was 16 but the site I was watching it on kept lagging so I decided to do something else. At the time I thought the film was actually about two kids getting abducted by aliens and having to cope with it later on in their lives. Quite honestly, I'm kind of glad I watched it now knowing what it's actually about.
I really don't know what to say about this movie other than for all the traumatizing subject matter this film revolves around, there are so many beautiful and intimate moments that have this dreamy quality to them. But that ending is especially painful yet resonant. Also, this might have one of the best scores ever made.
