Luke Pauli’s review published on Letterboxd:
Gone Girl is a hard film to talk about without uncovering its many mysteries. It's the kind of film that, upon conclusion, you immediately want to start debating and dissecting. I'm wary of avoiding spoilers, so I will just say this; it's terrific. Fincher takes what could have been a trashy, gimmicky thriller and makes it something special. Don't get me wrong, it's still trashy and gimmicky but infused with fincher's visual palate and trademark darkness (in tone, aesthetics and humour) it becomes elevated. The plot twists and turns, going off in unexpected directions, challenging the viewers' assumptions and allegiances, keeping you rapt and guessing to the very end. It's a must see film, dark, daring, blackly funny, well acted, completely bonkers at times. I missed Ben Affleck's knob completely though...
