Dunkirk ★★★★½

Although I've heard it said that Dunkirk solves Christoper Nolan's issues with character by shifting attention away from individuals and more to the events of the plot, I actually found this to be among his more affecting films. I got emotional more than once, and in these divided times, found its portrait of unification to be a soothing balm.

But even if you disagree with me on this, you can't disagree with the technical prowess here. Dude just directs like a beast.
