• The Counselor

    The Counselor

    ★★

Has a lot of fun dialogue, but the movie has trouble connecting it together with an engaging story. It’s so cool and interesting on paper but doesn’t come together. Love the philosophy chats but people talking on phones doesn’t make for a great movie.

  • Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain

Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain

    ★★½

What is the point of this documentary when he had a show that gave us everything? Maybe just put it all in order, and have his friends talk? Just super odd as their insights aren’t as deep as the ones he’s give on the show. I never watched the show or was interested in him. Odd choice with the AI voiceovers and to not reveal it to the audience. This aspires to be the unvarnished truth and yet is cowardly…

  • Elvis

    Elvis

    ★½

Elvis was, Elvis is and now Elvis will always be eternal with this movie. Forever on a streaming service alongside Superman, Tony Soprano, and Drogon on HBO Max. Elvis is the king, the highest selling artist of all time, and for a certain generation, he was as big as anything that ever was or will be. But how do you bridge that generational divide? How do you bring a 20th century icon into the next century? Where there was once…

  • Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me

    ★★★★

What lurked behind the mask of the iconic Laura Palmer photograph. Just pain, torment and trauma. And a great line about a fart. Chef’s kiss on that one David

  • Lost Highway

    Lost Highway

    ★★★★½

It had me, lost me and pulled me back in. Wild ride and had me smiling walking out of the theater. Happy I got to see the restoration on the big screen

  • Obi-Wan Kenobi

    Obi-Wan Kenobi

It breaks canon and has no story to tell. Complete waste of time. But it will do gangbusters in the financial side, so that’s all that matters. 4 billion spent and Disney has no clue what Star Wars and who Star Wars is for

  • Spiderhead

    Spiderhead

    ★★

The promise of this premise is wild. Almost as wild as Hemsworth showing that he will have a career after he stops playing Thor, and isn’t the heavy in an action film. He’s very charismatic and a joy in this role, just looks like he’s having fun and that’s what it’s all about.

It’s such a fun thought experiment and idea presented that it makes you sad that the script isn’t on the same level. I haven’t read the short…

  • The Accountant

    The Accountant

    ★★★

Rewatching this, it feels so much older. If this was from the 90s, it would fit right at home

  • The Gentlemen

    The Gentlemen

    ★★★★

    A great rewatch

  • The Adjustment Bureau

    The Adjustment Bureau

    ★★★

A fun little movie that would be awesome on cable if cable tv was still a thing

  • Miami Vice

    Miami Vice

    ★★★★½

Just like how though? Rewatching this, I see quite a few things that inspired it later, which was cool. The sweeping score is something else

  • Diamonds Are Forever

    Diamonds Are Forever

    ★½

The diamond trade is a fine idea for a bond movie, just not old man Connery
