Charming and disarming romantic comedy with a now-iconic premise. Bill Murray's comedic talent and Andie MacDowell's charming presence single-handledly carry a film that is already elevated by a unique screenplay.
What always bothered me about Groundhog Day is that the ending is so manipulative in hammering its point into the viewers. There is no ambiguity to the solution of the scenario, it's just a 'be good, then something good will be done to you' message that is worthy and completely deserving, but I would appreciate a little more subtlety in that regard.
